Pinecrest is a smaller suburb in Miami-Dade, with a population of around 20 thousand inhabitants within a 7.5 square mile area. There are many wonderful parks within Pinecrest allowing great recreation opportunities for families to enjoy green spaces. The origin of the Pinecrest story begins with Henry Flagler, and the birth of Parrot Jungle and Gardens. During the 50s and 60s, many homes were built ranch style, and boast some of the largest properties in the area, many on 1+ acre lots.
One of Pinecrests not so secret gems, is Pinecrest Gardens- which boasts botanical gardens, butterfly exhibits, swan lake, petting zoo, and children's playgrounds. Pinecrest is an extremely desirable area to live in for many of the reasons above, and property values have skyrocketed in recent years because of it. The picture above shows a traditional kitchen, featuring white “inset” shaker cabinetry and unique appliances. The cabinetry was well thought out, incorporating a rolling island, furniture styled pantry, and paneled appliances on the left-hand side. The countertops and backsplash were cut from a single piece of Calacatta marble, and book-matched to one another, blending seamlessly together. Kitchen hardware provides a bit of character and vintage appearance to an otherwise brand-new kitchen.
The image that follows is a unique blend of new and tried and true materials. The backsplash and countertop are the tried and true natural granite, while the floors and appliances are the trendy new porcelain wood tile and black stainless steel, respectively.

The second shows a kitchen renovation in Pinecrest, focused around natural wood grain cabinetry. Thought went into every aspect of this kitchen, whether it be the stepped marble island counter, or the grain matched cabinet doors, each cut methodically for the patterns to continue. The use of a wood on the ceiling really makes this kitchen ceiling feel high end, an often-unused canvas, typically destined for white paint.
