Farmhouse bathroom remodel with gold fixtures and floating sink in South Miami

South Miami Construction

Historic Miami

The history of South Miami dates back to its founding in 1926. As recently as the mid-1950s, South Miami was described as “A crossroad between town and country. It was where you could buy hay for your horse, and tux for a social event”.-Historian Donna Shelley. The City really took off when South Miami Hospital and the Holsum Baking Company came to the area. Since then, the area has expanded and developed into a truly wonderful place to live or visit.

South Miami now is known for its leafy neighborhoods, beautiful homes, various shops, and restaurants. It is quite peaceful, in an otherwise busy city, with many parks and great dining opportunities. To learn more about the area, please visit South Miami, The City of Pleasant Living.

The picture on top shows a stunning cabana bathroom. The large floating vanity was shaped from a single piece of marble, stretching from wall to wall. This bathroom is simple and elegant, with the smallest details thought through, like the gold sink hardware below the counter and uniquely shaped mirrors.

The image that follows is a modern new construction home in South Miami. The wood on the front of the home is actually a synthetic wood product, known as Resysta, which can be stained and installed like wood while allowing for much more durability in long term applications. Due to water drainage requirements, we were able to have a larger driveway than is typical through the use of “aqua flow pavers” which are water permeable. This home is around 6000 square feet and ultra-modern.

The above two photos have additional ideas to consider for your South Miami home. The first features a 15’x 30’ pool built with a 7’ tanning ledge. This pool was part of a larger new construction home, and is overlooked by the second-story master bedroom. The pool tanning ledge concept is becoming more and more common as a must-have, especially when there are young children in the home.

The second shows a powder bathroom, laid out intelligently. Design concepts such as compact floating sinks, wall-mounted faucets, and built-in lit shelves, make great use of an otherwise tighter space. By making a creative decision to move the sink back six inches, the bathroom suddenly became much more usable and practical.

White kitchen with quartz counters in South Miami

And finally, the next image is one of our favorite kitchens to date. The first thing you may notice is the client's French Lacanche appliances. These appliances really make the kitchen pop, while still blending right in. The cabinetry is a white “inset” style shaker, with the Sub-Zero refrigerator, and Bosch dishwasher fully paneled in wood. The counter and backsplash is a natural marble, book matching across the kitchen. A nifty idea used was the “appliance garage” on the left-hand side of the flamingo, providing easy access, and hiding of small counter appliances when not in use.
